I thought it was a bit strange at first, my mom got it for my 1st daughter (now 2). It's quality construction and if you think about it it really does make sense!
We just gave it to my 6 month old (today) and she immediately knew what to do w/ it and it seems to be providing relief as w/ my first. : )
