Regular size is 24 mm, and this is the size that comes with the Pump in Style pump. Large is 27 mm, and Extra Large is 30 mm, and they are designed for women with larger nipples. To determine which size breastshield find out about choosing a correctly-fitting breast shield. For use with Personal Fit connectors (sold separately). If you are having nipple pain during pumping, or you are not able to get a letdown, it may be that a larger breast shield will help. To determine your sizing, hold a half-dollar over your erect nipple (the way it looks when your baby is nursing). If your erect nipple is the same size as the half-dollar, order the extra-large shields. If your nipples are closer to the size of a quarter, consider Medela's large breast shields. This method is only a rough indication of your sizing; the correct breast shield size is also affected by the milk producing structure that lies under the skin. If you are unsure of which size to buy, you may want to order both the Large and Extra Large sizes to see which fits best.
